Reflections of the ’60s

Examine this decade as it transitioned from shifts to mini-skirts, from crew cuts to shoulder length pony tails, and from black and white to color TV.  More than just bell-bottoms, long hair and psychedelic rock, this decade marked profound cultural changes.  Technology that began for wartime use was adapted for domestic purposes and radically altered lifestyles.  A new phenomenon was created…. leisure time.  The sixties were dominated by the Vietnam War, Civil Rights protests and assassinations, but ended on a good note when the first man landed on the moon.  Enjoy this look back when we examined all the contrasts, triumphs and tragedies that made up this decade.

The exhibit showcased a variety of paintings by Jaclyn Garlock.
